Student Union HUMAKO proposes Elina Liekkinen as the vice president of SAMOK

Student union HUMAKO proudly presents Elina Liekkinen, chair of HUMAKO’s board, as the vice president of the National Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences – SAMOK for the year 2025.

Elina is a community educator student in youth and NGO work from the Jyväskylä campus of Humak University of Applied Sciences. As chair of the board, Elina has been responsible for planning, developing and leading the board’s activities. Additionally, they have served as the head of HUMAKO’s advocacy team and as a student representative on Humak’s board.

Elina has been actively involved in the organizational field since 2019. In addition to their work with HUMAKO, they have been active in political youth and student organizations.

“I am grateful to my student union HUMAKO for the trust in nominating me for this position. As we have seen during this past year, we are living in challenging times from the perspective of students and their advocacy. In the coming year, the student movement must raise its voice even more strongly for students’ rights, and I want to work on that specifically”, Elina comments on their nomination.

The board of SAMOK for 2025 will be elected at the SAMOK General Assembly, which will be held on October 30th – November 1st in Jyväskylä.
