We are looking for new board members for the year 2024
We are looking for new board members and reinforcements to help create and maintain the student community and monitor the rights of fellow students. The board application is open until May 29th 2024.
In the board you can, for example, concretely monitor students’ rights, help run the daily life of the student union, coordinate and advise local operators, develop member services and much more! The board has a collective responsibility for the activities with the help of the student union’s employees. Working language is Finnish. If you don’t speak Finnish, you can still apply if you’re interested and we can make it work.
In the supplementary search we are now looking for:
- One member to the local activity team
- The local activity team is looking for additional reinforcement for coordinating, planning, and developing local division and tutoring activities. The team also, for example, trains HUMAKO’s tutors and members of local divisions.
- One member to the advocacy team
- The advocacy team is looking for additional reinforcement for processing feedback, influencing students’ affairs and coordinating student representative activities, especially from an education policy or from an international perspective.
- In 2024 the team is also working on updating the political program.
Becoming HUMAKO active allows you to get to know new people, learn new skills and develop yourself professionally. Of course, you can also collect credits for activities – you can collect up to 20-45 credits at the board! There is no need to have prior experience in similar tasks as you will get a thorough introduction to your tasks. We hope you can take part in the board’s planning days 5th-6th of June but participation in the planning days is not a criterion for being selected for the board.
Applying to the board is done by sending an open application and CV no later than 29th of March 3:00 PM to executive director Suvi Torikka at suvi.torikka(a)humako.net. In your application, state whether you are available for the local activity team or for the advocacy team – or perhaps both.
You can read more about the board’s activities on our website or ask the chairman of the board, Elina Liekkinen (elina.liekkinen (a) humako.net / 045 122 5030)
