Who deserves praise and recognition from HUMAKO?

There have been many actives in the HUMAKO community over the years. It is a time to remember HUMAKO’s distinguished actives, alumni and contributors to the student union. The Award of Merit Working Group is asking for nominations with reasons by 31.1.2025. HUMAKO members and alumni have the opportunity to nominate recipients of honorary membership, medals or certificates of honour. More than one person can be listed on the form.

  • Honorary membership: the Board of Representatives may invite persons who have significantly contributed to the activities and goals of the Student Union to become honorary members.
  • Merit Badge: A merit badge may be awarded to a member, alumnus or employee of the Student Union who has contributed to the activities of the Student Union and/or played a significant role in the development of the activities of the Student Union.
  • Certificate of Honour: A Certificate of Honour may be awarded to an entity or individual who has contributed to the aspirations or status of UAS students through their actions or outstanding deeds. It may also be awarded to an entity or individual who has otherwise made a significant contribution to the activities of the Students’ Union.

The Award of Merit Working Group, composed of HUMAKO alumni, members of the Representative Council and the Board of Directors, will consider each application individually and decide on its approval by a simple majority. If the Working Group considers that the merits of the application are not sufficient for the award sought, the Working Group may, by unanimous decision, also award the person a lower distinction than that sought.

Since 2018, HUMAKO has been awarding distinctions in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
